Let’s be honest, therapy can feel a little mysterious. What happens in therapy? What do you talk about? Is it awkward? Will it even help?
As a therapist serving adults, couples, and adolescents in South Carolina, I want to pull back the curtain a bit and walk you through what therapy actually looks like, and more importantly, how it can support you in feeling more grounded, connected, and at peace in your life.
🌿 It Starts With a Conversation, Not a Diagnosis
You don’t need to come into therapy with a perfectly worded problem or a dramatic backstory. Many of my clients start with something like, “I’m not sure where to begin,” and that’s okay. Therapy starts with wherever you are.
Our first few sessions are about getting to know each other, understanding what’s been weighing on you, and figuring out what kind of support you need. It’s not about judgment or fixing you. It’s about offering a safe space where you can show up exactly as you are.
🛠 Therapy Gives You Tools, and Space to Use Them
I integrate a few different therapy approaches depending on what works best for you. That might mean:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help shift negative thought patterns
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotional regulation and resilience
Mindfulness practices to help you feel more present, calm, and steady
And always, a person-centered approach that respects your experience
But tools aren’t everything. Sometimes, what you need most is time to reflect, to be curious, to explore without pressure. We’ll create that space together.

💬 You’ll Probably Laugh. You Might Cry. You’ll Definitely Grow.
My approach to therapy is grounded, honest, and human. Yes, we talk about tough things, anxiety, depression, past pain, and present challenges. But we also laugh. We sit in the in-between. We reflect with curiosity and gently challenge patterns that no longer serve you.
Together, we’ll start connecting the dots between your past experiences and your current struggles. That self-awareness often becomes the turning point; the place where real change begins.
🌍 Local Support, Personal Growth
I work with clients throughout Mount Pleasant, Charleston, and the surrounding South Carolina area, both in person and via telehealth. Whether you’re feeling stuck in your thoughts, exhausted from carrying emotional weight, or simply ready to better understand yourself, therapy can be the next step forward.
You don’t have to do it all alone.
✨ Ready to Begin?
Therapy isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about giving yourself permission to ask the questions.
If you’re curious about what therapy could look like in your life, I’d be honored to talk with you. Let’s explore your story together, with compassion, honesty, and space for something new to emerge.
